Well, those two and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", instrumental versions of "Silver Bells" and maybe "Carol of the Bells". Also "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day". But I guess "We Three Kings" is pretty high on the list. Hmm, and "Joy to the World"... but then there's "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"...
I think that there's too many to name that I love, but I can name several songs that I could live without hearing.
The top two that I could live without: 1) "Wonderful Christmastime" - just overplayed and sticks in your head forever 2) "Sleigh Ride" - Also overplayed, but the reason why I could live without the song is that for 4 yeears I had to play the cello part for the department-wide "holiday" concert. Whenever I hear the song played, I cringe and start singing the cello part in my head. Dangit - I'm singing the part now!
haha, yes... immediately after I wrote this post, I thought of about 10 more songs that could have been put on this list. I will say that I agree with you on that first song Denise. And Erin, Silent Night is absolutely beautiful in German. I had to sing to in grade school for a holiday concert... though, I'm sure your father sounded much better than 8, 9, 10 year old children. Haha, Ashley, every time I hear that song, I just want to start marching around the room.
Haha, really? The version I listen to is so calming! (Sufjan Stevens' Christmas albums = amazing.) Plus I absolutely love the message of the song... giving to the Lord whatever you can think to give.
... however, since becoming an avid watcher of The Office, sometimes all I can think about when I hear it is Andy and Angela planning their wedding because Angela wants it to be their wedding song. Anyways. Still my favorite Christmas song.
